RADical EasyRiders 80s sešn
At first there was idea about easy-going session, with no stress, just fun, good music and riding. On some mellow saturday it came to be on Vogel. We wanted to have early start too boost things up, but since most of riders had rough friday night partying so things started evolving at about 1030. Luckily Der Dulash DJ, Zap and Scienceofuse crew showed up early enough and took care of wibes while most of people started showing up dressed up properly. At first it seemd a bit weird, because nobody knew what is going on: there was just DJ rolling, tents, banners and flags, but no speaker to explain what is going on but after short explanation with how riders judged event looks like everybody just started riding. After few hours of sessioning limbo-carving started but in finals things got out of hand when one of competitors destroyed judging construction with massive carve to seal-tummy-ride. When something happened with ski-tow most of people started hiking the park so the highest ollie and best hand-foot plant events took place. The easiest of the all started up BBQ and voila we had lunch pronto. At end of the day we made proper multigrab session to show off our mungo-grabing skills with proper style. After distribution of goods to riders some people stayed, burn more stuff on BBQ, while others headed to Celje(2 hour ride from Vogel) to catch afterparty: MadCaddies concert. Good thing we warmed up good, ‘cause they sure rock hard. I’m stoked that things turned out as they dit, it was soooo much fun. Big ups to potographers: Jaka, Mateja, Fish,Maček, Barbara, Matic… tnx. Big thanks to everybody showing up and everybody involved: Štef, Zap, Čaj in Gramufon-šalter team, Dorothy, Primož, Klemen, Jurčk, Durič, Zup, Šumi, Finžgar, shapers, Buba,...and rest…HELL jeah! Most of all, thanks to EasyRiders who were behind event: Pavli, Nejc, Tijana, Nina, Dejko, Mikec,...

Monday: I got up kind off early and got to the airport. After gettin to Geneva I got on train and arived straight to Sierra and took funicular to Crans Montana. Damien picked me up at the station and took me to race office to meet other contestants.I was a bit supprised, since they’re all french and therefore we had a little language-block. Later we proceeded to our home to drop my stuff. Place is really sweet, we got whole house, well stuffed with food…luxurius, I like! Later we went to place where rest of RipCurl folks are staying, got to meet few riders(Janne, Victor,...)and shoot interviews. Eavning and time for dinner, couple beers in Amadeus and back home to get some rest. Although it was snowing whole day and we had problems coming home(BMW sure goes fast on highway, but drifts even on straight snowy street) sky cleared up by midnight.
Tuesday: We woke up into beautyful day, nothing but sun and fresh snow. I had to arrange few things with bid, so I met rest of the crew up in the park. Setup was solid: Big kicker with approx 20m flat, smaller one on each side with just meter or two less(but not as much pop), followed by spine(also about 20m long), 2 paralell rails(downbox and straight-down box) and halfpipe for the finish. I took some powderruns to worm-up but got realy unfortunate when i dropped first time: I decided to speed-check smaller kicker and i took waaaay to much speed. It ended up with concussion, loss of memory, abbrasion and chill out session in RipCurl tent. Other were riding hard too, but some pros really made it a bit to difficult for most of newcomers. Riders were chargin’ hard on the best trick session with bs10 tail winning on the end. When i came around and things got better with my head I went to search hor powturns instead of getting back on top of the park.Bella Lui turned out to be my last stop, since mountain is a bit too big and there were endless pow runs just next to tiny ski tow. I went to race office, meet the other shreders and went back home to change. After crazy bus ride, we got ready for eavning with riders meeting and costume/clown party happening in Amadeus bar. Went home early…what a mistejka to mejka: next day turned out to be…
Wednesday: ...totally shitty. We got up and realised that it’s still really dark due to massive clouds and strong wind in mountains. Quallis were canceled and we got to chill in our shack with snow fallin’(blown down from Crans Montana) and sun(made clouds go away just around our house for most of the day). A bit boring, but hey…can you blame us? We went straight to bed on WED, because they sait that weather is going to be really well on thursday.
Thursday: Got up early and metereologists were finaly right: perfect bluebird day in the park. I felt kind of odd, because of my crash on monday, but this time I judged speed right and riding bick kicker was just really fun. Only problem was mass of people on training, we only made 3 jumps before quallis. Abkhazia finalists were all taking it easy with rotations to 5,mellow runs on whole course, but pros were going wild with spin-to-win system. Funny: although there were too much people on training, there was nobody on start on time and Zorg was really angry. :) At the end of day I took some time off and checked powder action again on the same spot I knew from before…bad day before made it just perfect again. Most of guys were a bit bummed, because they were leaving(job etc.), just me and Jim got to stay. Our crew from Diana didn qualify for the finals and we were ready to take on crazy party tonight. I waited in race office, Jim showed up and escorted me to the bus(other guys took both cars and went home straight after riding). I asked Marion to pick me up, since bus didn’t show up…took a quick shower and we all went to dinner with RipCurl crew. Dinner was lots of fun and we were all ready for last night in CransMontana: MORDOR! Party was really good, 80ies style, we’ve been out ‘till 4or5, I cant even remember.
Friday: I was motivated to go to mountains just because it was my last day there. I got up at 800 allready and left Jim behind(he slept ‘till noon). Sun was just overdooing it: it was just like spring/summer session…hot and sweaty with lots of people showing up and watching the finals. I broke my binding and so I tested gear most of the day, chilled a bit. Sun was burnin’ hard, seemed like true spring/session…way to walley was really slushy in some parts. Again Marion came around to save the day: she drove me down to Sierre catching my last train to airport by 10minutes. Plane being canceled, me having ticket for wrong day, resheduling and getting home by midnight, snowboarding naxt day back home on Vogel…is just another story.
Are you joinin us for chocolate-fest in Crans Montana? Rad crew@RipCurl picked 4of us and we’ll try to beat each other in eatin’ swiss chocholate…later we get to ride and party too( i guess ).
I’ll post some pics from the trip and our training for Abkhazia(you can guess we wont be eatin’ chocolate there).

After 7 days of straigth working I headed to Anglet, France. Surfing with Ujusansa…I figured that I’d get there, stay a week or two and further on join:
a) Austrian snowboarders on their trip to Portugal
b) Slovenian crew with surfwan…surfing on shores of northern of Spain, maybe get to Peniche
c) anybody with surfing on his mind…just not staying Anglet

Traveling by bus was quite fun: I’ve bumped into Domen(one of slovenian snowboarders), Mare, Amer and couple of others that were in France a year before. For first 4 days I was in the water about 3-4 hours a day and I thought that my arms will fall off. Further on my ideal of one month surfing&travelling started falling apart. I got my photo and discman stolen straight from tent on third day allready. Since waves got humangus during night(swell came up), we started drinking and got into partying a bit too much. Well…honestly…I really got carried away.
Austrian crew got stuck home because few of them didn’t make it(finances or studies), Slovenians had plans a bit changed: they slept in a van, so no place for me there…and others…jeah, there were others. But no surfing on their minds.
I was struck by her look on way to Anglet. I had no intentions, she was there with her boyfriend and I intentionaly started pissing her off with little things and misunderstandings. Funny thing was that only us wanted to stay out after the party ended in camp bar(ussualy at 3AM). Partying at the beach and talks when we went back to sleep at sunrise got us closer I guess. In about week of drama, confusion and messing around we got together. It was still complicated but I won’t get into details…it was fun and that’s why we got into it in the first place. :)
CREW #2 that was actually #1

Petja the way I remember her

After the first 2 weeks, the groups changed. Petja and I decided to stay 2 more weeks. We stayed there with most of Elan snowboards crew(there were a few team riders and developers/principals) so it was quite fun…riding Cavaliers and such. Also the next group were straight party animals…most of them were from Štajerska region, as soon as they got into camp they started drinking. Really fun bunch, we had loads of fun. Picnic with them was also a blast. True GET FAT project. Picnic was just a start, there was Fete de Bayone week It’s one of world’ biggest parties with about a million people gathering in centre of Bayone every evening. Everybody gets dressed up in white and red and there are numerous stages all over Baylone with diffrend kind of music. I’m not into massive partying, but this was special experience for sure. Really, really crazy. Also I’ve kind of picked up Capoeira a bit…A bunch of french was practicing it every tuesday, I came to watch and laters talked with oterd about methods, balance etc. They were signifficantly better :)
mornin’
Barbara, Teja and myself…watching SLO:P footbal match

surf contest public
Happy bunch prepairing us dinner. Cheerst, Sabs!

FETTE de BAYONNE

I really like Baskia. It’s more than just a region, it’s alive in people. Beside the great architecture in Bayone and Biarritz, there are some local specialities. Like Kukuxumusu the drawing community or just special cliffs and caves around that place(Poseidon plays his clasics there…tuned especially for the ocean and waves). And I love the fact that there is plenty of wine to choose from…I got almost specialised in rose down there.
Biarittz

Well…In about a month that was it. Every daydreams have to come to an end. It seemed that they will last for ever, but did they?
