When did you start working as a designer? I got my first job – illustrating for a magazine – about 8 years ago (1998), three years later I started working for design agency. Now I am a freelance designer and illustrator!

Please describe in a few sentences your development of becoming a designer. Since I can remember I like colors and images…I also draw a lot. It was only natural for me to go to secondary school for Design and Photography in Ljubljana. After that I studied at the Academy of Fine Art and Design – department for visual communications – also in Ljubljana. Soon after the graduation year I worked as designer in a design agency for almost 2 years. Now I work as a freelance illustrator and designer and produce work for variety of clients of my own and I also freelance for other advertising agencies in Slovenia.

What is your “design-education”? For four years (1995 – 1999) I studied graphic design – department for visual communication on Academy of Fine Art and Design, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

What are the main influences / inspirations to your design-style? There are various sources of inspiration in everyday life. Talented and creative people and especially their work (illustration, art, design) inspire me most. Internet affects my work in a very positive way…and of course nature, music, books, toys, old vintage stuff, magazines, ...

Please list your top five artist (at the moment): There is so much great work out there… As for designers and illustrators I’m overwhelmed with a lot of stuff I keep seeing. Nathan Jurevicius is one of my favorites and I admire work of Dave Cooper, Nate Williams, Tomer Hanuka, Tim Biskup, Michael Sieben, Kirsten Ulve,Tank Girl and Gorillaz artist Jamie Hewlett … amongst others.
