Heya, hope you’re enjoying summer times!
The last two weeks I’ve been on a trip through Eastern Europe. We, Rudi and I, where travelling around in the car, going from city to city and almost never staying at one place for more than a night. Our way took us to Slovenia (Maribor, Ljubljana, Postonja), Italy (Triest, Venezia), Croatia (Rijeka, Krk), Hungary (Budapest), Slovakia (Poprad, Levoca, Spisske) and Poland (Koszecin, Krakau).
It was really nice to visit so many extremely different cities. We got to know a new way of communication, where the actual speaking is secondary…, because you couldn’t expect people to speak English at all. It was really funny speaking with Italian truck drivers, Slovakian waitresses and polish grandparents without understanding a word.
In Croatia we were hanging with some friends from the Snowboard Klub Nine from Rijeka and where doing some wakeboarding together. It was really nice to meet them. In Poland we were staying at the place of the big family of a friend and we were seduced to drink a vast quantity of Polish Wodka. They were extremely hospitable and hearty. Speaking of city impressions, Venezia impressed me the most. It’s really worth to spend a few days there and fall in love with the beautiful buildings, old houses and the whole atmosphere.
After 10 days and more than 3000 kilometres on the road, it was getting quite exhausting but all in all, it was an awesome trip and a big experience.
Back at home now, I’m pretty occupied by several things: seeing friends and family, some sports, reading, working at a company this month, writing on my Bachelor thesis and studying a little because I want to finish my Bachelor in the coming semester. Besides that, me and my Crew are working on the production of our Movie ‘Together’ which will be distributed by www.x-tremevideos.com.

And there is more news I’m really happy about: coming season I’m riding Horsefeathers Outerwear
Has it ever been that hot at the end of May? I feel like being in the Caribbean… unfortunately it’s just Vienna, anyway, I loooove it :) just came back from swimming and sun bathing at “Old Danube”... with my study books of course, after spending whole day at university… but there are only 4 weeks to go (with loads of exams and assignment) till summer break jippie :) ...Whatever… I spend the weekend on Dachstein again where you get the summer feeling as well. The landings feel like backcountry slush after 10am and you are sweating after 9. Even the rail take offs can’t be identified as these in the afternoon… but it’s funny though, at least if your stomach doesn’t meet the rail, like it happened to me at the second day. But the first day was great! Much riding, shooting (sticking the tricks when the camera was on pause haha) fun and sun… I even met Urska who I recognized at the end of the day by discovering the ElanChicas stickers on her board :) and thanks to fox my photographer :) Will go back at the weekend and looking forward to. Enjoy the hot hot heat!!! CHEERS
I just arrived back home after my first week of spring season on Dachstein and it was awesome!! Perfect weather the whole week, really nice park, funny kickers, new tricks jippie, many people I was happy to meet again, BBQs, chilling with the guys … hope to go back next weekend, after being a good girl at uni for a week :)
praise the slush and enjoy the temperatures :) cheeeers
Hey people, it’s me again :)
As I wrote in my last blog, last week I spent a few days in Preston (near Manchester) in the UK with my boy (Rudi) and friends. We had a great time, met nice people from around the globe and saw many pubs from the inside ;)
Arrived in Austria again, I was riding at Rax (local mountain) for one day where I got the chance to catch some powder.
Rudi and I had set an early alarm clock for Saturday, where the Peanut Butter Rail Jam was held, because we wanted to arrive early at Hochkar to have enough time to ride before the contest. Good plan but unfortunately, we experienced a big DEJA VU - and if you read my blog from Rijeka/Croatia in January you’ll know what I mean – same car, same luck…
After driving an hour on the highway, motivated and looking forward to the jibbings, a few strange things happened… Suddenly a dear was running straight onto the highway but fortunately stopped just before the boundary line and two minutes afterwards the car started to smoke and we realized we had lost much diesel… leave next exit, roll back to gas station to end up there without any diesel left, wait for someone to pick us up and get car to a garage… BIG THANKS to my parents who picked me up AND lent me there car to hurry to Hochkar where we arrived just in time for the last minutes registration :)
After a few training runs the session started. I was having fun in the qualifications and made it to the finals as well as the rest of the Homoality Crew (Rudi, Wögner and Fox). I was hiking like a robot in the finals because I wanted to go for the invitation to the European PBRJ Championship but unfortunately, it didn’t work out that good for me then and I was just 2nd.
Anyway, it was a funny day again, good sessions and like always at PBRJ they had free BBQ, drinks and some really nice give aways :)
Hope you’re all enjoying the spring temperatures and slushiness, like we’ve been discussing in the forum the last days :)
Finally, I got some days on the snowboard again after a ten days “ski instructor schooling” from University at Kitzsteinhorn (AUT), which was funny for sure but I didn’t have much time to strap my Trinity except in the noon break few days… Anyway, the DC park at Kitzsteinhorn is really worth spending some days at!!
Last weekend I stayed at home in Lower Austria because there were two sessions at my local resorts: Friday: “East Cup” at Stuhleck (www.stuhleck.at) Saturday/Sunday: “Raxattaxx Gathering” at Rax
The East Cup on Friday was held as a night session with a box and a kicker. Unfortunately, we were just two girls riding and the second girl bailed half-backflip-like on the kicker at the beginning of the session (Hope you’re fine, Tamara!). So I was just having fun riding with the boys and it turned out as a nice session.
The Raxattaxx Gathering was like every year… easy steasy, slushy, sunny, funny…
Yesterday, Wednesday, we (Marc, Wögna, Fox, Rob and me) went to Stuhleck to shoot a little – THX to Fox for being such a patient photographer :) After we had managed to shape the only rail where enough snow was left it began to rain heavily so we waited in the restaurant, just to reshape an hour later and to hurry to the restaurant again… When I was sitting there at 3 pm I didn’t expect anything to happen at all… but luckily it cleared up 10 minutes later and we had the session till no light was left for pictures.
Tomorrow morning I will be on plane to Manchester to visit some friends and celebrate St. Patrick’s day wuhu
Next week I will spend at Hochkar, Lower Austria, where the Peanut Butter Rail Jam will be held on Saturday. So maybe see ya there? Enjoy your slush rides, I’m out
